Harborside was designed to connect trains to the water. Originally, it was an innovative, highly functional building providing “train to keel” access for the local shipping industry. But the trains are gone, and the declining shipping industry in Jersey City is being rapidly replaced by a booming commercial real estate market. How can a building designed to connect trains to the water, instead connect people to water?
