The new Malin+Goetz store in Brooklyn offers a fresh take on a classic (but fast-disappearing) concept. Co-founders Andrew Goetz and Mathew Malin were inspired by the traditional apothecary and asked A+I to translate that into a space promoting a direct relationship between the customer, the Malin+Goetz brand, and its sales professionals.

Through a collaborative design process, A+I created two visually distinct yet complementary areas within the 480 square foot space.  On one side, a bright, white space hosts the “apothecary” with haircare, face, and skincare products displayed along a gridded wall of white shelving. On the opposite side, a textural, darker space with wood finishes hosts the “perfumery,” with fragrances, candles, and curated objets on display.
